Government of Assam provides jobs for National Games medalists

The government of Assam decided to hire the medalists of the National Games. In answering a question from the Legislative Council today, Chieff Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that in addition to the medal winners of the Olympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games, the medalists of the National Games will also work in the government.

The Chief Minister mentioned that all people who won medals at the Assam National Games can receive sports pensions from the state government. Mr. Sarma expressed the hope that this decision will help athletes in the state. The Chief Minister also announced that the family will send a goodwill message to boxer Lovlina Borgohain, who will compete for a medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
