After being recently selected as the captain of the Indian men’s ODI team captain, KL Rahul took the field today in the 2nd test match between India and South Africa as skipper. The reason why Virat Kohli is missing from the final lineup is because of his upper back spasms. Hanuman Vihari has been drafted into the team in place of Kohli. With this KL Rahul becomes the first player after Mohd. Azharuddin to captain the Indian team before captaining the team in ODIs.

There has been two changes in the South African lineup as well – Kyle Verreynne comes in for Quinton de Kock, who recently took retirement and other replacement being Duanne Olivier.

After winning the toss, by lunch, India has scored 53 with the loss of wickets of opener Mayank Agarwal (26), Chetewshar Pujara (3) and Ajinkya Rahane (0).
