Hyderabad hosted the nation’s first-ever Street Circuit Car Racing on Saturday night. K Tarakarama Rao, the Telangana IT minister, attended the car racing competition in Hyderabad as well as the official opening of the Indian Racing League event. This is the opening round of the Indian Racing League (IRL) 2022, which was organised in advance of the city’s February 11th Formula E race.
While Chennai will host the second round beginning November 25 and the third round beginning December 2, Hyderabad will also host the event’s fourth round on December 10 and 11.
The single-seat open cockpit vehicles are travelling at a speed of 300 km/h. A series of races have featured six Hyderabadi teams. Two Indian and two foreign drivers are on each team. There will be a woman among them. Each team will have two cars available as they compete in a relay-style event with two drivers sharing one vehicle.
