Following last night’s rioting in many locations following Morocco’s victory over Belgium in the World Cup football match in Qatar, the police in Belgium detained twelve persons and made one arrest. Electric scooters and a car were both set ablaze. Numerous locations in the Belgian capital saw disturbances break out as soccer supporters, some of whom were wearing Moroccan flags, fought with riot police. According to the police, the situation has now been brought under control, and preventative patrols are still in place in the affected regions.
