Unbeaten half-centuries by Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar helped SRH to chase down the 155 runs target set by RR in the 40th IPL match held at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, with ease.
Batting first, RR scored 154 runs losing 6 wickets. The top scorer for the team was Sanju Samson with 36 runs; rest of the RR batsmen failed to make a mark in the match. West Indian all-rounder Jason Holder was the pick of the bowlers for SRH; he picked 3 wickets conceding only 33 runs. Rashid Khan and Vijay Shankar scalped one wicket each.
For SRH, Manish Pandey scored a fine 83 runs from 47 deliveries, consisting of 8 sixes and 4 boundaries, while he was ably supported by Vijay Shankar, who scored 52 runs of 51 balls, hitting 4 boundaries. The only two wickets that fell for SRH was picked up by England pacer, Jofra Archer, who presently is among the leading wicket takers in this year’s IPL. Now, SRH is placed at 5th position with 8 points while RR is at 7th position with 8 points with lower NRR than the former.
