The Bangladeshi version of the Nipah virus, which affects people in Kerala, is distinguished by a high fatality rate despite having a lower infectivity. The virus has no vaccination.
Since there have been six confirmed instances of the Nipah virus in Kozhikode, Kerala, the district administration has ordered all educational institutions to cancel lessons and move to an online format.
Up until further orders, the educational institutions will be shut down. The state government had previously announced holidays through September 24.
On September 18 until further orders are made, lessons would be delivered online, according to a directive from District Collector A Geetha.
