British secret tunnel discovered during a conference in Delhi Legislative Assembly leads to Red Fort

On Thursday, a tunnel-shaped structure was discovered at the Delhi Legislative Council. Speaking to ANI, Delhi Legislative Council Chairman Ram Nivas Goel said the tunnel connects the Legislative Council to the Red Fort and was used by the British to prevent retaliation during the movement of freedom fighters. 

 “When I became MLA in 1993, there was a rumor that there was a tunnel leading to the Red Fort, and I was trying to find its history. But nothing was clear, ”he said. 

 “We now have the mouth of the tunnel, but we do not continue to dig it because all the tunnels were destroyed due to the construction of the metro and drainage works,” he added. 

 Goel further reports that the Delhi Legislative Assembly, which was used as the Central Legislative Council after the transfer of the capital from Calcutta to Delhi in 1912, was converted to a court in 1926, and he used this tunnel to lead the warriors to freedom. court. 

 “We are all aware of the existence of the executioner’s room here, but we never opened it. Now 75 years of independence and I decided to check out this room. Intends to turn this room into a refuge for the freedom fighters, as a memory “. For them,” he said.
