Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas will get a knighthood and damehood

According to The Associated Press, British celebrities Christopher Nolan, a film director, and his wife, Emma Thomas, a film producer, are the latest to be nominated for knighthood and damehood in the United Kingdom for their contributions to the film industry. 

For Oppenheimer, his film on the inventor of the atomic bomb, Nolan received his first-ever Oscar for best director.

Produced by Thomas, the movie won seven awards altogether at the 2024 event, including best actor for Murphy, supporting actor for Robert Downey Jr., and director for Christopher Nolan.

In addition to Oppenheimer, Thomas has contributed to several other Nolan productions, including as Tenet, Batman Begins, Insomnia, Memento, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, and Dunkirk.
