Dip in COVID-19 Cases in India; Total Positive Cases Reach 7,15,812

In recent days, there has been a decrease in the number of positive cases in India. The no. of active cases has been under 10% of the total cases for the past three days. The total number of positive cases now stands at a figure of 7,15,812. Another positive development in the last three days has been that the COVID-19 Positivity Rate has been checked under 5%, which indicates that the rate of spread of infection has been controlled, and this has been possible through prompt action and focused strategies both at the Centre and State/UTs levels.

Recovered Cases Increase to 69 lakhs Approximately

As per the Govt. reports, the total number of recovered cases till now in India is 68,74,518, with 79,415 patients having recovered and discharged from COVID centres in the last 24 hours. As on today, the National Recovery Rate has improved to 89.2%. It has been observed at about 81% new recovered cases are from 10 States/UTs; around 23,000 recovery cases in a day has been reported from Maharashtra alone.

704 Fatalities Reported in Last 24 hours

Maharashtra also reported a high number of new positive cases, with 25% (180) of the total deaths out of 704 in the last 24 hours reported from the state. The other 10 States and UTs that have also reported fatalities in the previous day are Karnataka, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha and Delhi.
