Dipika Pallikal won the Women’s and Mixed doubles Gold at the World Doubles Squash Championships in Glasgow on Saturday, with Joshna Chinappa and Saurav Ghosal.
Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal, seeded second, upset fourth-seeded English pair Adrian Waller and Alison Waters in the final at the Scotstoun Leisure Centre 11-6, 11-8 to win the mixed doubles championship and became India’s first World Doubles squash winners.
Pallikal later won the women’s doubles title partnering Joshna Chinappa. Dipika’s victory quadrupled India’s and her personal world championship medal total.
Dipika Pallikal was making her return to international squash at the Glasgow competition after a three-year absence.
