After the former US President Donald Trump’s team withdrew from Facebook and Twitter, it launched a new social media platform Gettr on July 1st and displayed it as an alternative to social media giants. Although calm at first, Gettr’s debut soon made people wonder whether this was Trump’s long-promising adventure to provide his followers with his social media, or just to move on to his next alternative endeavor. Another step.
A website called Gettr announced its mission through statements such as “fighting against abolitionist culture, promoting common sense, defending freedom of speech, combating social media monopolies, and creating a real market for ideas.” According to Politico reports, the Gettr application is currently in Beta testing and will be officially released at 10 am on July 4. (Local time) The platform is operated by former Trump spokesperson Jason Miller, who confirmed the same thing in media reports.
In addition, former Trump campaign spokesperson Tim Merto also participated as an advisor to the Gettr app. According to reports, Donald Trump’s involvement in the new platform is unclear, as is the uncertainty surrounding the establishment of a Gettr account.
