SpaceX CEO Elon Musk congratulated the Indian Space Research
Organization for successfully completing the third long-term thermal test of
the Vikas engine as part of the Gaganyaan program. His one-word tweets are also
decorated with the Indian flag. In the ISRO facility in Mahendragiri, Tamil
Nadu.
“The performance of the engine met the test objectives
and the engine parameters were closely matching with the predictions during the
entire duration of the test,” ISRO said.
This is the final test of one of the three phases of the launcher
used for the mission to send humans into space. Gaganyaan is the main project
of ISRO, which aims to send an Indian manned spacecraft into low-Earth orbit.
The first unmanned mission is scheduled to be executed in December 2021, and
the second execution time is 2022.
