The world’s first robotic check-in helper, Sara, has been revealed by Dubai-based airline Emirates. The device is a component of the City Check-in and Travel Store, which will open in Dubai’s business area. Sara will check guests in, scan their passports to match their faces, direct them to the luggage drop area and check their bags.
Passengers have three options for checking in: at designated desks with Emirates agents, through self-check-in kiosks, or with Sara’s assistance.
The robot can print boarding permits and is outfitted with facial recognition software, which streamlines the check-in procedure. Sara is very mobile and can move to support people who require it.
The goal of Emirates’ most recent invention is to improve the customer experience and streamline and speed up the check-in procedure.
