Anurag Thakur, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, announced yesterday that India has been chosen to be the first official Country of Honour at the upcoming Marche’ Du Film (Cannes Film Market), which will be organized along with the 75th Cannes Film Festival in France.
The minister said, “It is the first time the Marché du Film has an official Country of Honour, and this special focus will continue annually with different nations in the spotlight at future editions.”
He further stated that India will also be a “Country of Honour at the Cannes Next”, which will give five new start ups a chance to pitch to the Audio-Visual Industry. Another highlight of this edition’s Cannes Film Festival for India will be the World Premier of the Movie “Rocketry”, which has been produced by popular Indian actor R. Madhavan.
