On Wednesday, the Indian men’s hockey team defeated Japan to win Bronze medal in the Asia Cup 2022. On the other hand, in the title clash, South Korea won Gold after beating Malaysia 2-1 and in the process, registered its fifth Asia Cup win.
India missed out a place in the final clash on goal difference after the Tuesday match, where it drew the game 4-4 against South Korea. On Wednesday, however, India came out with a purpose and played the game as it is known for. The first and the only goal for India was scored by Raj Kumar Pal in the seventh minute of the game.
Trailing by a goal in the half time, Japan continued its attacking mode from the first half; however, the Indian defense was too hot to handle. Numerous chance went begging for both the sides throughout the game and ultimately, at the end of the scheduled time, India were leading 1-0.
