Mirabai Chanu wins gold medal at Singapore Weightlifting International

Mirabai Chanu will face India at the 2022 Commonwealth Games on Friday after winning a gold medal in the 55 kg category lifting a whopping 191 kg at the Singapore International Weightlifting Championships. Chanu, who is competing in the 55kg category for the  first time, lifted 191kg to keep the top spot in a non-competitive field. Indian weightlifter witnessed her greatness after securing India’s main decoration  at the 2020 Tokyo  Olympics. She bravely fought to the end and won the silver medal in women’s 49 kg class.
