The Mumbai Indians won the inaugural Women’s Premier League after beating Delhi Capitals by seven wickets on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium with to Nat Sciver-unbeaten Brunt’s 60.
Meg Lanning, the captain of Delhi, chose to bat after winning the toss, and the Australia captain led her team in scoring with 35 as the Caps managed a modest 131-9. Shikha Pandey and Radha Yadav hit unbeaten breezy 27s to give Delhi bowlers something to defend even if that score had seemed implausible after they sank to 79-9.
