Nitu Ghanghas, an Indian woman boxer, won the gold medal in the 48-kilogram division at the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship in New Delhi’s K.D. Jadhav Hall. Today, Nitu triumphed 5-0 over Altantsetseg Lutsaikhan of Mongolia. She became the sixth boxer from India to win a world title, male or female.
Kazakh Alua Balkibekova lost to Commonwealth Champions Nitu Ghanghas in the semifinal match. Saweety Boora will compete against Lina Wang of China in the 81-kilogram division in a different match.
