Samrat Prithviraj, starring Akshay Kumar, was launched in India on Friday to much enthusiasm, but the film will not be distributed in Kuwait or Oman, according to sources. The film about the warrior king has been banned by the governments of both nations, according to a tweet published by trade expert Girish Johar.
“In a development, the governments of Kuwait and Oman have outlawed #SamratPrithviraj… they will not be freed there!” he said. @akshaykumar @SonuSood @duttsanjay @ManushiChhillar @yrf #DrChandraprakashDwivedi
The film, directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, was previously certified tax-free in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. A special screening of the film was organised for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar makes her cinematic debut, and Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt play significant parts.
