On 28th, the Ministry of Sports has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for conducting any sporting event in country, keeping in mind the COVID-19 guidelines. As per the SOP, spectators will be allowed up to 50 per cent of the total capacity of the stadium.
It also states that for each sporting event, a COVID task force shall be constituted by the organizers for guiding and monitoring all the athletes and their support personnel. This task force will oversee the proper implementation of the SOP protocols and other directives to be issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from time to time.
The SOP also mentions that the competitions shall be conducted strictly as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs. It also states that proper arrangement shall be made for personal protection equipment like masks, face covers, face shields, heavy duty gloves, PPEs, hand sanitizers and soap.
Additionally, it states that CCTV cameras shall also be installed at strategic locations to monitor over-crowding at seating arena as well as entry and exit gates.
These guidelines of the SOP have been formulated after consulting all the stakeholders.
