Vijay Bishnoi sworn in as Gauhati High Court’s new Chief Justice

On Monday, February 5, 2024, Justice Vijay Bishnoi took the oath as the Gauhati High Court’s new Chief Justice.

According to an official announcement, the new Chief Justice was sworn in by Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria.

At the ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, it was reported that various dignitaries, including Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, were present.

“I congratulate Justice Vijay Bishnoi Ji on taking oath as the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court. His legal acumen, wisdom, counsel and vast experience will greatly benefit the State. My best wishes for a fruitful tenure,” CM Sarma wrote.
