The Indian Army and DRDO with close association with the private industry have inducted 3 sets of 10-metre short span bridges in the Indian Army. These bridges were officially handed over at the Talegaon facility of Larsen & Toubro Limited on 29 December 2020. These will help in providing mobility to armed forces in fast bridging of gaps during their operations.
This innovation is seen as a step towards AatmaNirbhar Bharat and production of indigenous equipment for our armed forces. This ‘Make in India’ initiative by the Government, DRDO and some private companies, was aimed at bringing in self-sufficiency and self-reliance in meeting the needs of the Indian Army.
