The Indian telecom operator Reliance Jio has awarded the Finnish company Nokia a multi-year contract to build one of the biggest 5G networks ever. This was announced on Monday.
According to the agreement, Nokia will provide base stations, high-capacity 5G Massive MIMO (multiple input multiple output) antennas, Remote Radio Heads (RRH) to handle various frequency bands, as well as self-organizing network software.
Reliance Jio intends to build an independent 5G network that will communicate with its 4G network. Jio will be able to offer cutting-edge 5G services thanks to the network, including extensive machine-to-machine communication, network slicing, and ultra-low latency.
