The government-owned insurance company LIC of India has surpassed SBI in market capitalization to reclaim its position as the most valuable public sector enterprise.
With a market capitalization of Rs 5.64 lakh crore, LIC has outperformed SBI, which has a valuation of Rs 5.63 lakh crore. By 9:30 am, the BSE saw LIC trade at Rs 896, a 0.2 percent increase, while the SBI shares saw a 1.5 percent dip to Rs 624. The benchmark BSE Sensex closed at 72,386 points, down 1.02 percent.
Many experts had continued to rank LIC among their
conviction recommendations. Beginning in January, Centrum Broking stated that
LIC is currently selling below its Embedded Value, which provides a substantial
amount of value reassurance.
