Shailvee Sharda reported that UP has found two more highly spread cases of the kappa virus.CM Yogi Adityanath heard a briefing on the development of the incident at the meeting with Team 9 on Friday.
These cases were determined by sequencing the genomes of 109 samples from King George University. Of the total, the kappa virus was detected in two, and the rest belonged to the Delta strain, said another chief information secretary. Nafnet Siegel. And added that CM has been focusing on sending more samples for genome sequencing, so it can solve any problems in the budding stage.

Previously, the kappa virus was detected in the sample of Sant Kabir Nagar, and the Delta-plus strain was also isolated from two patients from Gorakhpur and Deoria. The college did not provide detailed information on the two cases reported by KSMU on Friday. ACS, Family Health and Wellbeing, Amit Mohan Prasad said that there is no reason to worry about the discovery of new strains in the state, and the prevention of any type of coronavirus strain must comply with appropriate Covid19 behavior.

“Genome sequencing exercise is being carried out across the state. Isolation of the variants of concern is an outcome of our efforts to check the problem in the initial stages. The takeaway for the common public is that the new strains make adherence to covid-19 appropriate behavior all the more necessary,” he said.

Experts also advised precaution but claimed that there was no need to panic. “Kappa (or B.1.617.1 strain of the Sars-Cov-2 virus) is not a new variant. The World Health Organization had first seen the virus in India in October 2020. It may be seen as a predecessor of the delta virus (B.1.617.2) which caused the second wave,” explained a government microbiologist.
