The salaries and benefits of ministers and MLAs in Delhi have increased by more than 66%. The Delhi government’s Law Department said that the MLAs will now receive Rs 90,000 per month, an increase from the previous Rs 54,000.
The statement states that the compensation for the speaker, deputy speaker, chief whip, and leader of the opposition has also been doubled from the previous monthly salary of Rs 72,000 to Rs 1,70,000.
The base pay for lawmakers has increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 30,000 per month, while the basic pay for ministers has gone from Rs 20,000 to Rs 60,000 per month.
Moreover, the daily allowance was raised from Rs. 1,000 to Rs.1500
The Law Department has announced a pay raise after receiving the President’s permission for the idea.
