Amit Shah inaugurates 69th NEC in Shillong

On 23rd January, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, inaugurated the 69th Plenary Meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) in Shillong, capital of the state of Meghalaya. On the occasion, Dr Jitendra Singh, who is the DoNER Minister and Vice Chairman of NEC and Satya Pal, Governor of Meghalaya were also present.

Shah was welcomed by the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma this morning.

Governors and CM’s of the eight North Eastern States i.e., Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura along with a large number of delegations of State Governments and Central Ministries were present at the meeting which is scheduled to conclude tomorrow.

The meeting will further discuss several developmental projects of the entire North Eastern region.

Further, in the presence of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Amit Shah will launch the Ayushman Bharat Healthcare Scheme for central armed police in Guwahati.
