Indian Vinod Kumar lost his bronze medal in the F52 men’s
discus after being deemed “unfit” by a disability assessment. The
organizers confirmed the development in an official statement on Monday,
published by the technical delegates.
“The results of the competition have been changed after the classified score
in the competition. Following an observational assessment of the classification
in competition and subsequent re-evaluation by the classification committee, you
cannot nominate Athlete Vinod Kumar of the NPC of India with Sport Class and
the athlete is designated as Incomplete Classification, the statement said.
“Consequently, the athlete is not eligible. He competed in the men’s
competition for medals in the F52 category, and his result in this competition
was zero,”he added.
The 41-year-old BSF player on Sunday made the best shot of 19.91 m and finished
