Defense Research and Development Organization has effectively flight tried a New Generation Nuclear-Capable Ballistic Missile Agni P from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam island off the bank of Odisha, Balasore today. Different telemetry and radar stations situated along the eastern coast followed and checked the rocket. The rocket followed coursebook direction, meeting all mission goals with a significant degree of exactness.
Agni P is another age progressed variation of the Agni class of rockets. It’s anything but a canisters rocket with range capacity somewhere in the range of 1,000 and 2,000 km.
“India successfully carried out the test-firing of a new missile of the Agni series known as Agni-Prime at 10.55 am today, off the coast of Odisha. The new nuclear-capable missile is fully made up of composite material and it was a textbook launch,” the sources said.
The officials added, “It is a canisters missile with a range capability between 1000 and 2000 kilometers. Various telemetry and radar stations positioned along the eastern coast tracked and monitored the missile. It has followed textbook trajectory, meeting all mission objectives with a high level of accuracy”
Congratulating DRDO, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Twitter, “Many advanced technologies including composites, propulsion systems, innovative guidance and control mechanisms, and state-of-the-art navigation systems have been introduced. The Agni-P missile would further strengthen India’s credible deterrence capabilities.”
