Former Gujarat CM Keshubhai Patel passed away in Ahmedabad on October 29 2000 at his residence. Patel, a senior BJP Leader till 2012, was the Chief Minister of the state from March to October 1995 and then from March 1998 to October 2001. He had launched his own political party – Gujarat Parivartan Party, after leaving BJP. He will be cremated at 5pm. Condolence messages have been pouring in from all parties after the news of his demise was made public by the family.
