Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who won the gold medal at the Olympics in Tokyo, made history by becoming the first Indian to win the coveted Zurich Diamond League Final in 2022 in Switzerland. Last night, Neeraj Chopra won the Diamond League title with his second throw, which measured 88.44 metres.
The Indian javelin expert followed up his first two throws with one that measured 88.00 metres. In his fourth and fifth attempts, Neeraj Chopra recorded distances of 86.11 and 87.00 metres, respectively. His most recent throw was 83.60 metres long.
Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch, an Olympic silver medalist, came in second with a best throw of 86.94 metres. With a best of 83.73 metres, Julian Weber of Germany finished third.
Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has received congratulations from Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur.
