On Wednesday, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) announced its decision to make it free for people to update documents on their Aadhaar cards online.
“The free service will be accessible from March 15 to June 14, 2023, for the following three months. It’s important to remember that this service is only offered for free on the myAadhaar portal and will continue to cost Rs 50 at physical Aadhar centres, just like it did before “The UIDAI stated in a press release.
In particular, if Aadhaar was issued more than ten years ago and was never updated, the UIDAI has been urging residents to upload Proof of Identity and Proof of Address (PoI/PoA) documents to revalidate their demographic information.
