The technology giant Google has recently announced that it will merge its video calling apps – Google Meet and Google Duo into one app. The new single app will be called Google Meet. However, Duo users need not worry too much as it will retain all its video calling features, along with messages, contacts and conversation history and additionally, it will get the Meet features.
The features of the new Google Meet will have customizable virtual backgrounds in meetings and calls in-meeting chat, scheduling of meetings, video calls up to 100 participants, live sharing of content and integration of popular Google tools like Assistant, Calendar, Messages and Gmail.
Users will not have to pay anything to use this new Google app. Till the time, this app is not completely rolled out, Google Meet and Google Duo will continue to work normally.
