IIT campuses have been identified in 7 countries overseas

The UK, UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Malaysia, and Thailand have all been named as potential destinations for offshore campuses using the name “Indian Institute of Technology” by a group established by the IIT Center for Global Expansion.

These seven countries fared well on numerous crucial measures, according to a report that the 17-member committee, led by Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, chair of the IIT Council standing committee, provided to the Ministry of Education.

The factors include the level of commitment and interest, academic standing, an atmosphere that draws the best employees and students, legal requirements, and potential benefits to enhance India’s “branding and reputation.”
