In the most recent rankings announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) today, India under Rohit Sharma surpasses Australia to take the top spot for Test teams.
Prior to the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final next month, India overtook Australia to end Australia’s 15-month dominance atop the men’s Test rankings.
India defeated Australia 2-1 in a series earlier this year to win the Border-Gavaskar award for a fourth straight time. Australia is now in second place on the leaderboard with 116 points, trailing India at the top with 121 points.
On June 7 in London’s Oval, India and Australia will compete in the World Team Championship.
