On August 24, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally inaugurated Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, which is Asia’s largest private hospital. Its construction cost Rs. 6,000 crores. The Mata Amritanandamayi Math, a charity organisation led by its namesake Mata Amritanandamayi, will be in charge of running the Amrita Hospital in Faridabad.
Among those present at the inaugural ceremony were spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi, also known as Amma, as well as Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, Union Minister, and Faridabad MP Krishan Pal Gurjar.
A four-star hotel, a medical school, a nursing school, a school for allied health sciences, and a rehabilitation facility are also located within the 130-acre complex. The hospital intends to open 550 beds in the initial phase before increasing that number to 750 in 18 months, according to the official announcement. By 2027–2029, the hospital will have 2,600 beds and be completely functioning. There would be 1,000 beds available in private wards at full capacity.
