The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of SAIL – a Maharatna Company, has recorded its best-ever production performance for the period – April to October – in the present fiscal year in crude, hot metal and saleable steel segments. In the first seven months of the current fiscal, RSP has produced crude steel worth 22,96,815 tonnes, hot steel worth 24,63,448 tonnes and saleable steel worth 20,90,372 tonnes. When compared to the same period last year, there has been a growth of 31.1 per cent, 30.7 per cent and 35.3 percent in each of these segments, respectively.
This performance feat in these three key segments, for the April-October period, was previously achieved in FY19. RSP has also registered the best-ever figure in the first seven months on the supply front as well with dispatch of 21,04,541 tonnes of saleable steel in the current fiscal. The overall growth on this front from the previous year for the April-October period is 27.8 per cent.
