On 19th May 2022, the officials of the Plantsite Police Station, Rourkela informed the press that on the intervening night of 18th and 19th May, a night patrolling team led by Sub-Inspector F Tigga of Plantsite Police Station was successful in foiling a robbery attempt on Bisra-Bondamunda Road. In the process, the team arrested six people with illegal weapons.
During the press meet, the officials said that the six arrested persons were planning to target people travelling through Bisra-Bondamunda Road, near Phatapipe area in Rourkela. Out of suspicion, the patrolling team detected the gang and foiled their attempt at robbery. Police have seized a Maruti Suzuki WagonR car, four country-made pistols, 32 rounds of live ammunitions, two swords and two live bombs from their possession.
The persons arrested in this case are Rohit Singh (19), Pramod Srivastav (20), Md. Parvej (29), Sambhu Ram (21) and two others. It has been ascertained that all of them are residents of Rourkela.
