Atanu Bhowmik’s name has been recommended by The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) for the position of Director in-charge of SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). Mr. Bhowmik, who is an alumnus of NIT Rourkela (previously Regional Engineering College, Rourkela) is currently serving as the Executive Director of SAIL Bokaro Steel Plant.
He was earlier associated with RSP in the capacity of General Manager, Blast Furnace. Mr. Bhowmik had also held other senior positions in the plant.
He was selected for this position by the interview panel of PESB, who shortlisted him based on his interview. Seven other candidates interviewed for the same post, including EDs of SAIL and GM-ranked officers of MECON Ltd. and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd.
