Over the North Andaman Sea and the South-East Bay of Bengal, a deep depression has formed. It’s heading north along the coast of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, heading for the Maynmar Coastline. In the next few hours, it is expected to become a cyclonic storm. It will then cross Myanmar’s coast in the early hours of March 23rd. According to the Metrological Department, it is heading away from Mayabunder by 110 kilometres east-southeast.

In the A&N Islands, there hasn’t been much of an impact. Rainfall ranged from moderate to heavy in various parts of the islands. For the next one or two days, strong winds and heavy rainfall are expected. Wind gusts of up to 85 kilometres per hour are expected. It is predicted that the sea will be rough. Fishermen have been given warnings.
