After the success of two phases of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), the Ministry of Skill Development and Entreprenuership (MSDE) will launch the third phase of PMKVY in 600 districts across the country on 15th January 2021. PMKVY 3.0 has its focus on new-age and COVID-related details.
PM Modi’s ‘Skill India Mission’, which was launched in 2015, has been a revelation of sorts. His vision to make India the ‘Skill Capital of the World’ has successfully been powered by PMKVY.
The vision of Skill India Mission PMKVY 3.0 is to train 8 lakh candidates in the current phase. These trainings will be rolled out at 729 Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras (PMKKs), more than 200 ITIs under Skill India and empaneled non-PMKK training centres.
Based on the learnings from previous two phases, the Ministry has updated the scheme to make it synchronized with the current policy doctrine and give a boost to the skill development ecosystem marred by COVID-19 pandemic.
