With an eye on the ensuing Rajarajeshwari Nagar Assembly by-poll elections, the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner on Tuesday (27th October 2020) ordered prohibition of sale, procurement, storage and consumption of alcohol and other intoxicants in specific areas like Nadini Layout, Jalahalli, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Yeshwanthpura, etc. This decision was taken to keep anti-social elements of the city at bay so that there are no acts of violence and disruption on the streets of the city. The prohibition will come into effect from 5 pm (1st November 2020) to 12 am (3rd November 2020) and 6 am to 12 midnight (10 November 2020).
