The SAIL Hockey Academy (SHA) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has emerged as the winners of the 5th SNBP Under 16 All India Hockey Tournament 2021. This national level tournament was held at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune, from 09th November to 15th November. In all, 24 teams participated, from across the country, in the tournament.
The SHA team stormed into the semi-finals by thrashing Samrat Hockey Academy, Raipur (8-0), R K Roy Academy, Patna (8-1) and Bhilwada Hockey Academy, Rajasthan 3-0 in the league stage. The team showed another dominant performance in the Semi Finals by defeating Regional Development Centre, Jharkhand (6-1).
In the finals, the SHA team defeated Hariyana Academy, Sonipat (2-0) to lift the championship trophy. Jr. Anmol Ekka won the Player of the Tournament title while Mukesh Tete bagged the Best Half-Fielder of the Tournament award.
