NIT Rourkela wins International ChemE Jeopardy Competition

In the recently concluded International ChemE Jeopardy Competition, a team from NIT Rourkela has bagged the top honours. This competition was part of The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Annual Student Conference 2021, in which teams from across the globe participated. The event was organized from 6th to 8th November (in physical mode) and 13th to 15th November (in virtual mode) in Boston, USA. The  Team AIChE NIT Rourkela virtually participated on 14th November 2021.

The winning NIT team consisted of four Pre-Final Year Chemical Engineering students – Millen Samantaray, Swagat Subhakanta Das, Birupakhya Patro and Swastik Brahma. They were awarded a cash prize of $400 as prize money.

Speaking about their win, one of the team members – Swagat Subhakanta Das said, “Team AIChE NITR has overcome all the odds to become the ‘International ChemE Jeopardy Champions’ at this year’s Annual Student Conference (ASC). The team represented the whole of Southeast Asia at this prestigious conference. NIT Rourkela stood as a major supporting pillar in the journey. Be it the required documents or the hefty registration amount, the institute was there to back us.”
