On Saturday, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) announced the results of Swachh Survekshan Ranking 2021, and Rourkela is the only city from Odisha to get 1 Star rating in Garbage Free City category. The Smart City ranks 57th among the 372 Indian cities (with population of 1-10 Lakh) of India in the category of Garbage Free City.
The Swachh Survekshan initiative of the Government of India ranks urban local bodies and cities on different parameters like garbage disposal, waste segregation, etc..Rourkela is the only city in Odisha to achieve this honour of One Star Rating under Garbage Free City Category at Swachh Survekshan 2021. With the cooperation of citizens, we pledge to take urban sanitation to higher standard in the coming days.
