Popular Indian playback singer Jubin Nautiyal was in the city on Sunday for the Celebrity Night show, organized by the Student Activity Centre (SAC) of NIT Rourkela. This was the singer’s first visit to the Steel City. The show was graced by Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao (Director, NIT Rourkela), Shri Nikhil Pavan Kalyan (IAS- District Magistrate, Sundergarh), Dr. Subhankar Mohapatra (IAS – Commissioner RMC-cum-ADM), Shri Atanu Bhowmik (Director In-Charge, RSP) and Prof. Rohan Dhiman (Registrar, NITR).
Jubin, who is known for his Bollywood chartbuster singles like Raatan Lambiyan, Dil Galti Kar Baitha Hai, Meri Zindegi Hai Tuh, Zindagi Kuch toh Bata and many more, simply mesmerized the audience with his melodious voice.
The SAC team at NIT Rourkela has been instrumental in bringing some of the big names from the Indian music industry in the past to Rourkela, including Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, Vishal–Shekhar, Sunidhi Chauhan, Salim–Sulaiman, KK, Javed Ali, Papon, Jonita Gandhi and Mohammed Irfan.
