On Tuesday, a car break down caused heavy traffic jam that went up to 3kms on the Panposh Brahmani Bridge. Even though, the car was later moved to a side of the bridge, it still continued to cause hindrance to the smooth traffic movement. Few ambulances were also seen stuck on the bridge.
Considered as the lifeline of the city of Rourkela, Panposh bridge has also become the hub of jams in the city. It connects Balughat, Saw Mill chowk, ITI chowk flyover with Rourkela, and receives heavy traffic since 8 in the morning.
The construction of the second Brahmani Bridge is on the verge of completion, and hopefully, once it is functional, the commuters will not have to face this situation on a daily basis.
