With an impressive 302 run victory in Mumbai, India defeated Sri Lanka for just 55 runs, securing their spot in the Cricket World Cup semi-finals.
With openers Pathum Nissanka and Dimuth Karunaratne both out for golden ducks, Sri Lanka’s top four batsmen managed just one run between them by the fourth over, as the team slumped to 3-4
They lost to 14-6 in the powerplay against Mohammed Shami (5-18), who took his third five-wicket performance in a World Cup match, and Mohammed Siraj (3-16).
Bangladesh was the first team eliminated from the World Cup competition, while India was the first team to advance to the semi-finals and regain their top spot.
