The Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya was inaugurated on Saturday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Beyond its physical footprint, the airport—which was designed by Sthapati and constructed at a cost of Rs 1450 crores—stands as a testament to India’s dedication to sustainable practices and marks the beginning of a new age in ecologically aware aviation. It was awarded a GRIHA 4-Star Certification.

It will serve a sizable population and support the ongoing anticipated growth with a peak-hour capacity of more than 750 passengers and four aircraft movements per hour.

A magnificent stepped shikar covered in brass stands tall at the Ayodhya Airport’s main entrance. This architectural marvel greets travellers with grandeur and a wealth of cultural traditions, according to the Nagara style outlined by scriptures.
