In Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday laid the groundwork for development projects valued at over Rs. 20,000 crores. At the expense of around Rs. 1,100 crore, the New Terminal Building at Tiruchirappalli International Airport was opened by him. With two floors, the new international terminal facility can accommodate over 44 lakh passengers a year.

In Tamil Nadu, the development projects cover industries like shipping, railroads, roads, and the oil and gas sector.

“Tamil Nadu’s progress will propel India forward,” Modi declared, citing connection as the catalyst for development that facilitates corporate growth and improves people’s quality of life.

He emphasised the government’s focus on physical infrastructure while also pointing out the significant investments India has made in the last ten years in areas like roads, trains, ports, airports, housing for the impoverished, and hospitals.
